NOTICE TO ALL WORKERS OF XXXXX ENTERPRISE COMPANY LIMITED
(Asian Labour Update N. 24, April-July 1996)
1. All workers must bring 8 black and white photographs and pay 10 yuan for deposit, 5 yuan for the employee's identity (ID) card and another 10 yuan for miscellaneous fees.
2. The Personnel Department will arrange a dormitory for all workers. Exchange of beds is not allowed. Electric stove and kerosene stove for cooking are not allowed in the dormitory. Anyone who violates the rule will be fined 10 yuan.
3. All workers must wear the employee's ID card when entering the factory and the dormitory, otherwise, you will be fined 5 yuan. Anyone who loses the ID card has to pay a fine of 50 yuan.The ID card should be worn on the left hand side of the chest.
4. All workers must follow the work schedule and go to work on time. Being late for work or leaving early is not allowed.
5. During office hours, nobody is allowed in the dormitory. Anyone who needs to stay in the dormitory must show the approval letters from related departments, otherwise the security guards will not let you go into the dormitory.
6. Keep quiet during office hours Discussion of personal business not related to the job is not allowed. All workers must conform with the assignment and supervision of the management.
7. All workers must follow the operation instructions given by the supervisors. Anyone who does not follow the instructions which then causes an accident or damage of any factory property will have to take full responsibility.
8. Take good care of public property (water taps, doors, windows, fire fighting equipment, etc.) and tools of production (products, work bench, chairs, etc.). Anyone who deliberately violates this rule will be fined 50 yuan and dismissed. Nobody is allowed to take away any property of the factory. Anyone who violates this rule will be dismissed.
9. Apart from rules stipulated in explicit terms, all workers must comply with the rules below:
a. Queue up to get food at lunch time and have lunch at designated place. Leftovers must be put into the rubbish bin. Anyone who violates this rule will be fined 5 yuan.
b. Put all rubbish into the rubbish bin. Water must be poured into the drain. Anyone who violates this nule will be fined 5 yuan.
c. At 12:30 in the morning, all workers must go back to their own dormitory and are not allowed to go out or stay in another dormitory. Anyone who violates this rule will be fined 30 yuan or not be allowed to go back to the dormitory.
d. In the factory buildings and the dormitory, fighting, gambling, strike, drugs or alcohol are not allowed. Anyone who violates this rule will be fined 100 yuan and dismissed.
e. Do not stand or sit on the railing in the dormitory . Anyone who violates this rule will be fined 10 yuan.
f. All workers are not allowed to lend the employee's ID card to anybody else or bring anybody else into the dormitory without going through the normal procedures. Anyone who violates this rule will be fined 50 yuan. Do not punch the attendance card for otherworkers. Anyone who violates this rule will be fined the wage of that day.
9. Save water. Close the tap tightly after using the water. Anyone who violates this rule will be fined 10 yuan.
10. During the probation period, the factory has the right to dismiss workers who have any unsatisfactory performance (such as long-term sickness, work slowly, inability to learn and react) or misconduct that violates the rules.
11. Workers who know of anyone who steals factory property or the, private property of other workers can report to the Personnel Department, or to Mr. Liu. All the information will be kept confidential.
12. Anyone who wants to resign must provide ample reason and one month notice in advance, otherwise, they will be considered to have breached the contract. All the wages will be deducted. Anyone who wants to resign and leave immediately will be deducted half a month's salary as a compensation to the factory.
Any ordinary worker, QA, QC, maintenance worker, screen printing worker and paint spraying worker who fulfills their duty, does not stay away from work without any reason in a whole month (anyone who stays away from work without any reason for 3 times is considered breaking the contract), does not take holiday, comes to work on time, does not leave early from work (anyone who is late for work or leaves early from work for 10 minutes will be fined 5 yuan and so forth), will be given 1 yuan allowance each day. Normal working time is 8 hours a day. Work after 8 hours will be given overtime pay. Charges of the government departments will be deducted from worker's wages. Objection is not accepted.
I fully understand the above mentioned rules and am willing to accept punishment if they are violated!
